1
Each little flow'r that opens,
each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.
Refrain:
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful,
the Lord God made them all.
2
The purple-headed mountain,
the river running by,
the sunset and the morning
that brightens up the sky. [Refrain]
3
The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden:
He made them every one. [Refrain]
4
He gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well. [Refrain]
Author: Cecil Frances Alexander (1848)
This is often considered to be a children's song, but its lyric has become quite famous and has been used in a variety of ways, from books to television series. The first video here is the tune that I learned, composed by L. O. Sanderson, who is a prolific composer/arranger specific to the Church of Christ.
The second video is a tune more commonly used, especially in English churches.
ALTERNATE TUNE (William Henry Monk)
And here is another tune with which I was not familiar until today when I started looking at videos of this hymn, composed by Martin Shaw
