(The interesting thing about the lyrics of the chorus is the ambiguous placement of the word "so" -- Is it supposed to be "I've wasted it so" or "So help me, Jesus" ???  "I've needed you so" or "So help me, Jesus" ??? Or both... It seems to me that "so" is the pivotal word that bridges both phrases.)
